The Beginning as Told by Jon

We thought it would be appropriate to start our blog by telling the story of how we met and started dating. Anyone who knows us will know that we strive diligently to avoid cheesiness, but given the circumstances (pending nuptuals) once won't kill us, or you.

Our stories differ because for some reason she seems to think I was a wimpy chicken afraid to get her number... So, maybe that's a little true, but why should I go to all that trouble to get a number that is available at the click of a mouse?

I noticed Jen one of my first Sundays in the local Singles Ward when she walked by me in the hallway and flashed her cute smile and gorgeous blue eyes. At that moment I decided I was going to get to know that girl...So what if it took me a few months, I'm all about results! We had a few conversations here and there, but I never found myself in a position to request her telefonal digits, so I took the easy way out and asked her out via ward directory. I asked her to a Rockets game on Saturday, but she had date with another less awesome guy.

And I quote, "Oh sorry I can't go on Saturday, but I've been wanting your Awesomeness to ask me out for ages now and so please can we go out on Friday instead???!?"

So, we went to a terrible movie on a damp Friday December evening and the rest is history.

"Your Awesomeness", huh? I'm sure those were her exact words ;) The beginning is always the best story!

Sorry to break it to you Jon, but her story is better :) Hey congrats! Just got the invite in the mail. Sure wish I could be there for you. Where are you guys going to live? California is a nice place to live :) Texas is a great place to visit! Hope you are surviving the Ike man.
